Sirmione and Surroundings
The favorable location of Sirmione has left substantial signs of each historical period, so much to give today, to archaeologists and historians, items for new discoveries and new studies.
The oldest traces of human habitation dating back to the Bronze Age: the piles are lakes found in the nineteenth century, which developed by Salo on Lake Garda, in particular the area of the lake Maraschina (Municipality of Peschiera) in 1971 to port Galeazzi (Comune di Sirmione) and St. Francis (Comune di Desenzano del Garda) in 1976.
To visit to Sirmione:
- Palazzo Maria Callas, built in Piazza Carducci in the late eighteenth century. Today when significant exposures.
- The charming Castle of Sirmione, which still retains the charm of the original building, located in scenic spot on the lake.
- The church of Santa Maria and its cloister
- The church of St. Peter built in Romanesque style.
